The Encapsulation Technique: Mega Volume Without Stocking Past 8D

Walk into our lash room and you will not find a 10D, 12D, or 16D tray anywhere. Our salon inventory stops at 8D, and we still deliver every look from soft hybrid to full mega volume. Two trays, 6D and 8D, cover the entire menu.

Fewer trays means less capital sitting on a shelf, no aging stock, and a cleaner cart when you reorder. Here is the system that makes it work.

Why 6D and 8D are the only volumes we stock

A 6D and an 8D tray are not two looks. They are the raw material for every look, because heat-bonded premade fans can be split down and stacked up. Split them for lighter density. Encapsulate them for mega. One tray becomes four.

Technique one: the split

Heat-bonded fans separate clean. Grab half the fan with your tweezers and break it apart. A 6D splits into two 3Ds, an 8D into two 4Ds, and because the base is heat bonded rather than glue bonded, the split is residue free.

This is how you customize density mid set without switching trays. Inner corners want 3D, the body of the set wants 6D, and you build both from the same row.

Technique two: encapsulation

This is our signature. Two fans, one natural lash.

Top and bottom. Attach one fan on top of the natural lash and one underneath, wrapping the natural lash between them. The result is a stacked, denser, true mega volume look. An encapsulated 8D reads like a 16D, with no 16D tray in your inventory.

Side by side. Attach the two fans along the sides of the natural lash instead. The fan face spreads, giving you a fuller, wider look rather than a taller stack.

Encapsulation works with most premade or promade fans of your choice. A narrower base makes the wrap cleaner, which is exactly why our Extra Narrow Promade line tops out where it does. The 6D and 8D are the workhorses.

The tip that makes it all hold

Run Glue Stop across your fans before application. It reduces migration of the adhesive bead, and a controlled bead is what keeps a two-fan attachment clean instead of clumped. On encapsulation work this is not optional. It is the difference between a stacked set and a stuck-together one.

The takeaway

You do not need a deeper inventory. You need a tighter technique. Two trays, one splitting method, one encapsulation method, and a controlled adhesive bead cover everything a mega volume client can ask for.
